View Full Version : 33 pounds and counting!!

So I have two major accomplishments... first is that I've lost over 30 pounds now... I'm not trying to rush it, but it's still very exciting that it's only been a little over two months (started on June 23rd). But the most exciting is the 2nd accomplishment.... my other half and I went on a 10 mile bike ride yesterday!!!!! That was so much damn fun, and yes, my butt was a bit sore, but it was well worth the pain, not to mention how beautiful a ride it was- lucky for us where we live they took an old railroad line that runs through 5 cities and created a bike/ped path that in some spots is perfect for our mountain bikes. Our goal is to complete the entire 20 mile trek soon. My boyfriend never likes to go do the outdoor activities (lucky for him he's in good shape without it) until I finally drag him, but once he got started, he was in love with it- so now we're going to start biking at least 2 times a week until good old new england weather stops us... and on the plus side, biking like that means I get to take a day or two off each week from my 5am pre-work gym trips... today is a very happy day! :-)

Awesome. Im right behind you. I have lost 27 lbs since June 6th. Im so close to 30 lbs! My husband and I have been talking about going on bike rides once a week together. Its harder to get the workouts in together with a two year old. It would be nice to just hook up a bike trailer and workout that way a few times a week. Our weather will start getting bad in November so we have some time : )

here's how I've done it so far...

Calorie counting- sticking to between 1200-1700 cals per day and working out 3-5 times per week for at least 30 minutes. And for calorie counting, I've basically switched every food item in our house to a low-cal version... still tastes great, but major calorie savings. And I gave up regular soda and now drink coke zero, so that cut out a lot of cals. I also drink at least 2 liters of water each day as well. I make a point of getting off my butt and walking more, parking further away at the grocery store, etc... and I like biking a lot now.... but even without the exercise, just the water increase and calorie counting was taking the weight off. Since I lost so much so fast, I'm actually slowing down a bit now and letting myslef eat more around 1600 cals a day instead of the 1200-1300... and the weight is still coming off... wish I had figured this out long before I had this much weight to lose!!

Thats great!!! so it seems once you get a hold of the healthy lifestyle, and your eating and working out more, you just continue the shredding......how fast into this change did you notice the pounds coming off?
