Dec of 06 we decided to go to the Bahamas, so i decided to try and lose some weight. I started at 284lbs by the time we went to the Bahamas at the end of Jan 07 I lost 15lbs. The fat pic is at 269lbs, the closest I have to my max weight. The second is at 194lbs, 90lbs lost. I still have some to go and just wanted to show the pics. I guess i am just trying to renew my motivation since i am a little down about my stomach not being were i want it yet.

Wow what an amazing difference...if not for the tattoos I wouldn't have known it was you! You look great, seriously. Thanks for sharing so the rest of us can be inspired :) I can't wait to even post ONE progress pic let alone 90lbs...that's such an accomplishment.

Nice work, man! Thats a lot of hard work there!

How did you do it?

I pretty much ran it off. Started with 1/2 mile run and worked my way up to 3 miles a day which i am currently still doing. I run at 6mph, any faster and my knees will kill me. I had knee surgery less than 5 years ago. I also throw in some elliptical, especially in winter when you cant be as active. The last few months i have began weight training after years of not doing it. I also do about 1000 reps of ab exercises a day. My diet takes a back seat to the exercise as i am not one to diet. I pretty much eat what i want, but do so with smaller portions and at better times of the day. I do eat a lot healthier now mostly cause i feel guilty if i dont. I think the biggest change diet wise is i eat small amounts all day. I used to eat one big meal and snack a little. I still have some work to do, id like to lose 10 more lbs and turn whatever fat is left after that into muscle. I am afraid at this point that i lost alot of lean muscle and want to gain that back.

thanks for the responses

Don't lose motivation now, yjtj, not when you're being so motivational to so many others. You look fantastic. Thanks for sharing how you came to where you are.... Running, huh? I guess I'll have to get off my chair and give it a go.

Just keep on with the hard work and remind yourself how far you've already come... you'll get there in the end! :D

You look so fit and healthy and toned! You can definitely see definition in those abs. I've never liked that ultra skinny guy look anyway. You should be so proud, 90lbs is a fantastic effort.

yeah i am not a big fan of skinny, besides my frame would never allow that. i am just to big boned. peaple dont believe me when i tell them i am still 192lbs. they just cant believe i still weigh that much.

thanks everyone. it has been a ton of hard work and i am going to keep it up. nobody believes it is me except when they see the tattoos. at this point the hardest thing is dressing myself. i am unsure of sizes and what looks good. all my clothes are way to big but thats a good thing. you keep working at your goals and you will see what i am talking about.

thanks again, the positive replies help keep me motivated.

What Tarazan said. Use these comments to move even more towards where you wanted to be. It was the boost I needed to realize I could finish this.

You look terrific and like the new tat! :cheers2:

yeah im getting there. i got the tat when i hit the 50lbs lost mark. figured i wasn't as embarrassed about my gutt. looking back i still had a long way to go. theres never really and end i guess, you always want to loose 1 more pound or get just a little more toned. i have to keep it that way or i will lose focus i think. was thinking to myself yesterday "when am i done and if i get to that point what happens then?" i guess i will have to keep myself always wanting more or i will lose interest.
