View Full Version : A little discouraged.

So, I started eating healthier and exercising about a week and a half ago, and since then, the pounds have sort of melted off.

I've lost 10 pounds even in that short period of time.

I went from 174 to 164.

However, I've not noticed a change in my appearance at ALL.

No one else has, either.

I took before shots when I started out, and then took some after having lost the ten pounds, but there is no difference.

I can't see a change anywhere, and those that I asked can't either.

So, does anyone have any idea as to why I haven't noticed a change yet?

I mean, I thought that I could at least notice my pants getting looser, but everything fits just as tight as ever.

Wow..that's odd... only thing I can think of is around that time of the month I bloat like crazy! haha all my loose jeans fit tight..so possibly that's the problem??

Don't get discouraged though..It's a longgg process... and it sucks! haha

Good luck!!

Your not going to notice a big difference in a week and a half. Its great you lost 10lbs but the majority of it is probly water weight and not actual fat. Don't get discouraged. Its takes time to lose weight. Its not going to happen over night.

Give it some time. Really 10lbs is a great start, but it's not always noticeable on everyone.

I had lost 50lbs and I went from a size 20 to 18, sometimes 16....and even after that loss it still didn't seem that noticeable!!

Just stick with it and give it time!!!

My first week I lost 6 or 7 lbs almost instantly, and I was so excited... except I didn't look different and didn't lose any more weight for another week or so. It was pretty disappointing until I read that your first week you lose allot of water weight from cutting your sodium intake. Now my weight is still kind of stable because I am building muscle and losing fat. Part of me want's to see that stupid scale go down, but I know that I am making progress by building muscle which weighs more than fat, but burns fat by being there. Be patient, try not to weigh yourself more than once a week and try to gauge your progress by how your clothes fit.

Thanks everyone. :)

I didn't even think that it could be because of my time of the month, but I actually am about to start it.

But, you're all probably right, I should give it time. And I will. I just get so ready for results, but weight loss is a really long process. xD

Thanks everyone! ^_____^

Hi....I am in the same boat. I have gone from 167 to 152. There is hardly any difference when it comes to my clothes. Even my face hasn't gotten smaller. I wonder why???

you lose a lot of water weight at the beginning of a diet, and unless you are exercising perfectly you will be losing muscle too

Yup... Ive lost 60lbs so far since I started my workout/diet in the first week of April [Had my baby in February] and I didn't even really start noticing a difference until a couple weeks ago. I know with me whenever I lose weight I don't notice anything the first two months and than after that everything starts to take shape. It'll happen! Keep it up!
