I haven't posted in a while and since I am only 4lbs away from my goal weight I figured it was time for an update. I have recently changed my workout from a lot of cardio and some weight training to a lot of weight training and some cardio lol. Hoping to make everything nice and tight again. The last 4 lbs may be here to stay, since I have stayed at the same weight for about a month, my body may be telling me that enough is enough.
I achieved these results but counting calories and exercise, it took me 1 year to do.
And no my hair did not grow that fast, The last picture was at a friend's wedding and I wore a hairpiece to make it longer in the back.

Also, the "last 4 lbs" are not there to stay. Just need to refine your game.

I am a couple lbs more than you and I'm doing the same thing as you...cardio, weight training and calorie counting.
I hate to sound like a ding dong here lol...but I was wondering if you could tell me what program you used to set your pictures side by side. I always have to look at my pics one at a time but I want to do mine like yours so I can compare side by side.

ktgirl- I've been following your progress since you first posted. I'm just blown away by your transformation. You look simply stunning. I showed your before and after pics to my roommate and he said "Woah, she's so tiny!" Your hard work and determination to succeed has quite obviously paid off. You look wonderful.
Btw, I like the long hair much better (even if it is just a hair piece).

Well I eat basically what I want as long as I can fit it into my daily calories, whenever I noticed a stall in my weight loss I upped my calories for a few days and that seemed to kickstart it back up.
For exercise I started at curves for 4 months, it was a good starting point but it got too easy too fast, so I went to a regular gym. I seriously slacked off on gym time for a few months but I was still counting calories so I was still loosing. I recently started going to the gym again and am doing 30 mins cardio and about 40 mins weight training 3 days a week (the weight training is pretty intense).

I don't have experience with post baby weight, but one thing that you can tell her is that she CAN do it and the hardest part for me was the first month. It was hard to adapt to not being able to just munch out on bad (but tastes sooo good) food whenever I wanted. After the first 3 weeks- 1 month it became much easier. The trick for me was in finding those 100 calorie packs. They are more expensive but better portion control for me (If I open a big bag of chips I can eat it all before I realized how much I have eaten. When people were eating junk around me I used to tell them how much calories they were eating, they found it irritating but at the same time, it stopped me from eating it. There are things now that I just won't eat (but used to love). It may be easier for guys to loose weight but remember the last winner on biggest looser was a girl!

Well, I do have experience(3 times) with baby weight and then carrying it for another 4 years after the last one. Honestly, her attitude probably has a lot to do with being overwhelmed with the care of an infant and not knowing how she will fit in anything else. Many of us when we become moms tend to forgo our own well-being in the interest of our children. I think that's a bit of a biological imperative, but part of being well for your kids IS taking care of yourself. I missed out on a lot of fun with my children, particularly the oldest when she was younger, because I was just too fat and lethargic to ever do anything fun.
All I can impart having experienced it is that it will get worse if you neglect it! If I had lost the weight after my first, I would have been dealing with about 50 lbs, instead I waited and waited and dealt with about 130 total by the time all is said and done and I'm about 70 lbs into that loss now after 8 months and just now getting close to what I would have had to lose if I had started after baby #1. She was pregnant for 9 months! Imagine what she could do in 9 months. That's another perspective to offer. And I'd remind her she wouldn't be the first woman after children to lose weight or get in shape successfully. It can be done. I do find a bit of resistence compared to when I was younger and had not been pregnant yet, but not enough to make it exasperatingly harder.
Think about it though--we were all resistant to that first step and made excuses. I think each person needs to have their own epiphany before it finally hits. We all have different triggers for ours.

Hey KGIRL, First off let me say you look AWESOME! Such a change in just a year...
Can I ask how you lost it all? You do mention counting calories and exercise, but how many calories and how much exercise? Did you have any setbacks and how did you get through them if so?
You pics must be so motivating...by the time you were 171 it was a huge difference and either way you are really pretty.
Keep up the fantastic work...

Keepasecret: I am one of those crazy people who like to stay close to 1200 calories a day. between 1200-1400. I used to exercise everyday but it was too much and I ended up slacking off for a few months now I go to the gym 3 days a week, for about an hour each time.

Thanks everyone, and it is true, the last little bit can make all the difference. I remember looking at my stomach at around 140 thinking that I would have to loose more than 15lbs to make the tummy flat, but it is pretty flat now (except when I sit down, the tiny bit of excess skin kind of bunches together to make a bump)
When I was at my friend's wedding I was talking to a girl who just had gastric bypass surgery and she said it was hard having all the food around and not being able to eat it. I told her I knew the feeling as I was at the tail end of a diet and she gave me a semi dirty look and said "why do YOU need to be on a diet, look at you" It actually felt good her saying that. I of course explained that I was much bigger a year ago so at least she wouldn't think I was mocking her or just one of those girls who is always on a diet when they don't need to be.

You bring up a good point. I have to admit I've given that look lol, but never thought about what you've pointed out. Unless we know someone personally, we don't know where they've come from and how they've got to where they are now...thats why they say don't judge a book by it's cover.
