Low-Fat and Fat- free dairy products

From all I've read - Full fat dairy products - in moderation - are better for you because of CLA that they contain naturally.

The downside to Fat free and some low fat products, is that tehy don' thave the satisfaction factor that the full fat product does - so therefore - a person will often eat more - thereby negating the calorie savings.

Pay attention to portion sizes and make the product you like fit in your daily plan.

I'm using Lite yogurt, 1% milk, Lite Dressings, Lite Miracle Whip. I really don't like fat free stuff. A lot of the time, they slip in extra sodium to make up for the lack of fat, plus the whole lack of satisfaction thingy mentioned above.

P.S. Why is everything "Lite" instead of "Light"... I didn't realize that "Lite" was actually a word.

Why is everything "Lite" instead of "Light"...

People are stupid. Same thing as doughnut / donut. "Lite" is readable by people with a lower level of English literacy than is "light."

I prefer to eat lower-fat dairy because I have medical reasons for limiting saturated fat. Other than that, I try to avoid the artificially fat-free stuff. I'll eat baked chips, but not the Olestra ones, for instance. And I'll eat frozen yogurt made with lowfat milk, but not fat-free ice cream made with fake fat.
