awesome! You look great.

Off topic but I have been wondering did your tats look different when you lost the weight. I have 3 different tats I want, but Im nervous that they will look bad when I loose the weight so I have been holding off on getting them. How are yours looking?

Very cool! Congrats.

How did you go about accomplishing it?

i started with just running everyday working up to 3 miles a shot. that snowballed into eating healthier and working out with weights. it took about a year and a half to get to were i am at. i will probably lose a few more pounds but i dont see much more coming off. i think i will just keep doing what i am doing and build muscle while losing fat. i used exercise to lose it more than diet. being a high school athlete when i was younger helped, but i was a fat lineman and graduated high school at 240lbs and that was 16 years ago. i still eat things i shouldnt and dont keep track of calories and such, but for the most part i eat healthy foods in small portions. i am still running 3 miles a day and lifting every 2 days. i did it in my basement by myself. this is the best shape i have ever been in at 34 years old.

Looking good. Did the weigh-loss affect your tattoos at all? Everyone's surprised, with the amount of weight that I've lost, that my tattoos weren't affected by it. I think perhaps it has always been a myth that they'll get distorted.

Myth busted. I don't think tats distort with weight fluctuation.

My friend had a tat on her stomach and when she got pregnant it stretched pretty badly. I think it depends on the person and their elasticity of their skin. I got attacked with stretchmarks when I was pregnant.

And heres a quote

"Will the tattoo change if my body changes (working out, weight loss or gain, pregnancy)?

Dogstar Tattoo Company
Yes it will. Depending on how much your change will depend on how much it affects the tattoo. Typically when men workout, they have to drastically change to stretch out a piece on their arm. The result in this case is that the tattoo may be lighter as well as somewhat distorted. Pregnancy will definitely alter tattoos on the stomach, usually permanently"

Pregnancy is a different thing. Your stomach stretches out dramatically within a very short period of time which often leads to irreparable damage to the skin in the form of stretch marks. Once the skin becomes physically damaged in that way, if there's a tattoo there of course it will be damaged as well.

But I'm willing to bet tattoos that are in places where a person doesn't get stretch marks after they get the tattoo, won't be affected by gaining and losing weight.

Amazing man. I'm about 6 months in now, I should be able to do 105 or more by a year. You may have inspired me to sprint for the finish line. (I wish, we all know it's a lifelong journey right? haha)

we all inspire each other and keep each other going. as for the finish, once you are where you want to be, it gets a little easier even though it is a lifelong journey. at this point it doesnt even seem like a task to eat healthy and exercise. it is something i look forward to and it makes me feel better. sure there are days you want to slack, and some you will, but you work through it.

its funny, people are saying i look like i am loosing more weight, even though at this point i am pretty much sitting at 174lbs. i think my stomach is still tightening and the weights are building muscle and burning more fat, but my weight is staying the same. i was even told i look skinny and have a tiny little waist. i hope thats something you all will hear someday.

yeah a lot of people barely recognize me, at work there always looking at my name tag. its a big place so you don't see everyone a lot but i have been there 6 years.

on another note i was 170lbs this morning, 114lbs down. not really trying to lose weight anymore, just toning, but i had a busy week and burnt some lbs off anyway.

thanks again everyone, keep up the good work

yjtj

bro please tell me how u did it good job man

well i decided i wanted to lose weight and going on vacation gave me a reason. so i started running dec 06 about 1/2 mile each day and doing 1/2 mile on the elliptical and a good amount of ab exercises. i was up to a mile a day 2 weeks later. i pretty much just focused on the exercise for about 4
months which netted about a 40lb loss.

then i decided to cut back on my eating and add in some weight training. this took off about another 20 lbs and i was pretty much just running 3 miles a day no more elliptical. so at about the year mark i was down 60lbs.

at that point i decided to take it further and focused more on diet which i had avoided up to this point and upped my exercise adding in pull ups push ups and more abs. this got me to were i am now.

i am currently 169lbs, thats 115lbs lost. i eat very healthy and dont over eat. i dont count calories, but i know what to eat and what not to. i do about 2000 reps of ab exercises every night, run 3 miles a day, weight train for about an hour 1 day on 2 days off, and do 250 push ups 100 pull ups and 100 floor sweepers the days i dont lift.

i do have some loose skin on my lower abs, buts thats to be expected. i use a cocoa butter, aloe, vitamin e mixture to help tighten my skin and it has helped. im sure in time it will tighten more. its been stretched for over thirty years, it will take a few to tighten.

next month will be 2 years since i started losing the weight. i have not only maintained weight loss for 2 years but i have been consistently losing for the 2 years. i think i am more happy that i have kept it off and maintained a healthy lifestyle for that amount of time than i am the amount i have lost.

good luck with your weight loss, it is a great feeling.

I was a fat linemen as well in highschool. I got to say getting up to where i was at 400 lns from 265 lbs in HS, I have a long journey a head. But im all ready down to 372 pounds and having that experience in football has helped me considerabley. It allowed me to know that i can push my body to exshaustion and i wll survive it.

Keep up the good work man you are an inspiration

thanks

its funny no matter how much i weigh and what i look like, i will always be a fat lineman. people wouldnt even believe me if i told them i was a nose guard in high school.

i truly believe that being an athlete was a huge part of my success.

i will take another update picture soon just to show the toning. i am maintaining the same weight (around 169) but the 34 waist pants i bought a few months back are huge. im thinking my waist is more like a 30 now
