So I don't have any pictures from when I was my heaviest (215lbs), I was so young that I didn't think to take pictures of my progress. However I did after having a trainer I did start taking pics. The most current pics I have are from Jan this year. I've made decent progress, but its easy to see what still needs work.
February 2006: 175ish (I'm not sure of my weight here)

And that's me! I am hoping to take some new pics soon. I am down to 148ish, but I think I have toned up a bit since the last pics.

The waist AND the stomach are HOT. That is awesome that you have such a flat stomach at that weight. It's like a stomach in the 120s.

Thanks for the nice words everyone! I can't lie I LOVE my curves, I wouldn't trade them for anything. I carry my weight in my hips and legs, always have. I think that with the way that I am built I will always be curvy and that even though I would love to wear a size 6 it wont ever happen....
But here's hoping!

Thanks again everyone for the positive comments! I know this sounds crazy, but I am still hoping to loose a few inches off my waist. Its currently at 26.5 and I would like it down to a solid 25 or even 24. I know I should be worried about my lower half too and I am! I would like to my hips (biggest part of my bottom half basically) down in the 30s.. its currently like 44 or 45...
Hey Alta, do you have trouble finding jeans that fit good? Like they fit your butt and are baggie on your waist? This is my biggest problem finding clothes that fit... my waist puts me at a size 6 and my butt puts me at a size 12! Ugh, frustrating!
Ha sorry to rant, thanks again everyone! I will be posting new pics at the end of this month! Hopefully I will have made more progress!

I must say too, I love your body. I think it is beautiful and you have some very very nice curves. Your body reminds me of one of my friends. She has a smaller upper half, a flat as a board stomach, and then a bigger booty. I really really like her body but she can be a little insecure about it. I think she has trouble finding jeans that fit right sometimes but, she did find a pair at Bebe that she loves...
Good luck with reaching the rest of your goals, and I, probably like most people on here really want to see your final pics :)

I totally agree! I will always have this shape and thats totally fine with me... as long as its a little smaller than it is now!
But yesss finding jeans is hard, nothing ever fits right... something is always tight or loose somewhere! :ack2:
Sam: Thanks for the compliments! Its hard being curvy because most associate curvy with heavy. I am the only one of my friends with this shape and it took a long time for me to really embrace it and love it! And now I do! I will be posting new pics soon!

a lot of women have this problem. i used to watch what not to wear all the time, and stacey clinton suggests finding pants that fit around your widest part (your butt) and if they're too big around your waist, take them to a tailor and have them taken in at the waist. i know it sounds weird, taking your jeans to a tailor, but if it makes you look and feel great, it's worth a shot!

SHUT UP! I freaking love Stacy and Clinton! And my mom is acutally a pretty good seamstress and has "fixed" alot of my jeans so they fit better. It's a pain though to buy jeans and then have them fixed right away... but you gotta do what you gotta do. I also found that stretch jeans rock, because you can get them a little smaller and they will s t r e t c h over those larger parts.:biggrinjester:

Ah but doing that tends to make those larger parts look larger than they are...
tailoring is better than squeezing your butt into something toosmall - breathing is important as well as circulation..

I know what you mean about "stretch" jeans. Some jeans have a small percentage of lycra that they are made with now, so that they have a little more give. No lie, I actually have a pair of bootcut Lucky Brand jeans that I love that have a little bit of lycra within them. Probably the best jeans and most flattering for my legs and bigger thighs that I've ever owned... they aren't even that tight, just in the right spots. I'm no rodeo cowboy or buttrocker by any means... and yes I am a guy :) PS. Stacy and Clinton are so good. I love their show. They are brutally honest to people who need it and are hilarious at the same time. My friend's mom actually calls me Clinton and not Sam a lot of the time just because she says he reminds her of me :)

Ha ha I have now deemed you Clinton! That show is amazing! But I love makeover shows in general... its crazy what the right clothes, hair, and makeup can do!
Lycra is one of my best friends... however I do have a few pairs of jeans that have way too much give and they stretch out too easily, so by the end of the day they are huge!

OMG your waist is 26.5?? I am so jealous!! I'm 112lbs and my waist is bigger than that. I have small hips (35 inches) so I end up with problems finding clothes to fit too, but in a different way. Clothes that fit me in the legs/hips just about strangle me at the waist because I'm straight up and down.
You've got an amazingly perfect hourglass figure...can't wait to follow your progress :)

Ha ha don't be jealous, my hips and butt are HUGE!!! I am so unporportional. Yes I love my over all shape, but I would kill for 35" hips! And thats what I am shooting for! Even 38" would be nice!
I think in general women have a hard time finding clothes that fit and it makes sense we are all shaped so differently.
Thanks for the compliments!:seeya:

WHOA lady, you do have an amazing stomach. My body stores fat everywhere and does not discriminate. I got a nice little pooch in my belly that never wants to leave me. It's nice that your extra weight appears only to be in your bootie :) Running will really help with that! Keep up the fantastic work. Can't wait to see how you look w/another 5lbs off. I'm sure the change will be very noticeable.
I need to take a new set of "afters"...my "befores" are scary and I commend you for being brave enough to post all your goodies for us to see!

I can't lie I am glad my body stores my fat lower than higher, but either way it seems to be hard to get rid of those "trouble spots." I am glad to hear running will help, I think I always knew in the back of my mind that it would... I just didn't want to start running... but now that I have I am okay with it.
I did alot of thinking about posting pics and just decided what the hell... what's the worst someones gonna say "nice wedgie??" Its been a great motivator thus far!
Thanks for the boost!

EEE. I love stacy and clinton too! Except...I couldn't bear to be on that show..not yet anyways.
As for your shape, I am so jealous! My hips are about as big as yours but my waist is no where near as awesome as yours is. Look on the bright side...you really only have one problem area...and everyone is right.
Running will help, so will swimming if you really use your legs. I believe even bicycling will really help to tone your thighs. Hiking would be great for your booty too.
I don't think I'd mind my hips if I had such a nice waist as you do. As for jeans, for now I just tend to where things that are a bit loose. I can wear a 14, but a 16 allows room for my bigger waist. I shop at Old Navy. It seems that if my waist was smaller, even for bigger hips, they would fit great! And they just the right amount of stretch.
You're gorgeous! Keep up the great work.

Fortuantely, I don't have this problem, but it reminds me of my best friend. She's two sizes bigger because of her bottom.
And I agree with everyone before this post, you have KILLER CURVES and a really, really pretty waist.
I'm completely opposite of you. I have curves, but carry most of my weight in my middle. Lol...

You are so happy with who you are, if only I could be like that..I can never seem to be happy with how I am. :(
Honesty, it took a very long time for me to love my shape and I still struggle sometimes. For me it was difficult because I am the only one of my friends who has curves which made me the odd one out and I was always sooo self conscientious about it... until I realized that just because I was different didn't necessarily mean it was bad... You have to learn to love yourself no matter what size and shape you are because who is to say that when you are down to your goal weight you will automatically happy. The two don't go together and I have learned that through my battles. I am currently at an all time weight low, which yes makes me very excited... but I am very happy in my life too and loosing more and more pounds does add to my happiness but not my sole reason.
Learn to start liking who YOU are... not just your physical you but your character and traits... You will see you have reasons to be happy and if not then you know where you can start making little changes to become happy. Two years ago I hated everything about myself including the physical... but I made changes that led me to where I am today... and I continue to make changes.
Be positive and remind yourself that you are beautiful no matter what!!

Hi there, I can totally relate to what you said earlier on finding clothes that fit on the hips/butt but oh so big on the waist area..I just can't seem to find nice jeans or pants that fits nicely..I wear skirts and dress as I have (almost) the same body shape as yours..and my hips are around the 44/45 inch..while my waist is much smaller same goes as the rest..a classic pear shape, I should describe myself..
Just out of curiosity, how did you managed to lose all the weight and how long does it take? I envy you too, for you are very comfortable and very very happy abt yourself and your shape..:-)

Hello! I honestly think most women have trouble finding clothes that fit no matter what shape they are. But I've found recently that as my tush gets smaller that its getting easier to find things!!
I began my journey close to ten years ago when I was 14. I don't have any pics from then, but I weighed in at 215. I finished high school in the 160s and then yo-yoed for a few years until 2 years ago I got serious about my health and have lost 20 lbs in 2 years, however I was never consistent with my diet or exercise until this year and consistency is key. Find a groove that fits your lifestyle and work it! And continue to remind yourself that you are making a lifestyle change and not just a quick fix.
Learn to love yourself and eventually you will start to like what you see in the mirror! :)

Well here is a suggestion on the jeans thing because, you have a more to be p.c. ETHNIC shape to me (strictly IMO), which is wonderful, just a little unusual. Check out Apple Bottom Jeans, they are specifically made for women shaped such as us, curvier at the bottom, with much smaller waists :)
They can be a little "blinged" out but worth a shot for an awesome fit, and I will ditto what everyone else has said I would kill for that "coke bottle" girl! Work it! :hurray:
