With bloating being one of the main symptoms of PMS, water retention is bound to tip the scales a bit. Do you experience bloating before/during your period? how much does it affect the scale? If not, is there anything you do to help reduce bloating and water retention?

Thanks to my anti-baby making bitch control.......I stay the same weight. Thanks to other issues, I generally eat less during that time so I can go down a pound or two (which I gain back afterwards)

I usually gain about 1-3 lbs during that time of the month. Luckily it seems to drop right back off. I guess it's really just water retention. I've heard that upping your potassium intake can help with that but I've never tried it.

I just started back on a fitness program and it was literally on the day I got my period! arrrgh! I don't use a scale, but I can tell by how clothes fit that it was more than 3lbs or at least felt like it. The day before is the worst. No cramps just pressure so bad that I can't eat or drink. Once I worked out it got better. I also know I need to drink a lot of water prior to my period because it helps flush water out actually. When I was fit, my periods were fine, which is another reason to stay on track.

I usually lose a little more than usual during time of the month. I don't experience any of the 'usual' TOM symptoms thanks to my coil, the only thing is that I feel a little off colour and nauseous for about 2 - 3 days, during which I hardly eat, that's all.

I guess there way be a tiny bit of bloating but never to the stage where I can't fit my clothes. I don't think anyone would notice though.
I don't have a scale so I'm not sure if my weight changes.

During that time I can gain up to 8lbs in water weight. It sucks! I don’t weigh myself but I can feel it and tell with my clothes. I also get a run down feeling and also feel very blah.

When I'm on that time of the month, I notice and feel like I bloat after I've exercised. It's a horrible feeling. And I get very tired. I don't get any other symptoms, like sore breasts, backaches, etc.
Thanks for the water retention tips link - I'm gonna check that out
