now i dont mean how its easier to sit around and do nothing and gain weight, i mean it seems like 2 weeks of working out can be undone in one night. anyone else feel this way?

last night i went out for a dinner party with co workers. i know i ate too much but i felt i deserved it after having met my weight loss goal early for the week. just that morning i got down to 218. i was so excited because the week before seemed like it was dragging by and finally at the end of the week i lost the weight.

so i went out...ate too much...then woke up this morning and it said i was 222! that means i had not only gained back the 2 pounds i had lost the previous week...but also gained back the 2 lbs from the week before! how is that possible from just one meal!!!!???!!!!

i dont get it...maybe its water weight? seriously its so frustrating. im enjoying eating/over eating less and less because of how frustrated it makes me...maybe thats a good thing i guess.

anyone else feel this way?

This is why some say to only check the scale once in a while. Body weight fluctuates regardless, but if you go out and have a bad night it's obviously going to fluctuate in a direction that won't make you happy. Give it a day or two to level back down.

I had a bad weekend not too long ago and my scale was reading five pounds heavier than normal right afterwards. After some exercising and a bowel movement I was back down to my regular weight the next day.

yes I definately experience this. but you have to think to yourself as well what else may be causing the fluctuion... If you did some serious pigging out how many pound of food did you eat? i gaurantee a lot of that weight hasn't been dropped in the toilet the next morning. 2 if your eating out chances are it contained an excessive amount of salt which will cause water retention. and as conkel said your body fluctuates a few pounds even just throughout the day... which leads to another bit of advice. if your going to be weighing yourself everyday, try to do it at about the same time every day so the fluctuation is more consitant.
p.s i know this an old post but it's never too late to add your 2 cents :P

Yeah ive experienced this before and it is so annoying. As the others say there are reasons for this e.g. fluctuations and water retention. What i do to combat this is only ever weigh myself first thing in the morning and never weigh myself for 2 days after a bad night drinking and eating, this allows your body to settle a bit and your heart wont be broke looking at the scales. Dont worry there is so many of us in the same boat as you it may well capsize:sifone:

Ohhh yuckkk!! I know exactly what you mean... there have been days when I have weighed myself midday... and then later on at night I weigh 5 lbs more! what the heck! I know it isn't that I gained 5 lbs of fat in one afternoon but It's still frusturating seeing the scale change so drastically in the wrong direction in such a short time. why isn't it the other way around? !! lol!
