Expert advice needed:

I read an article last week about exercising on an empty stomach. The article said that you should exercise on an empty stomach because when your body needs energy, instead of getting it from the food you ate (in this case, there will be none), it would get the energy from stored fat. This sounds similar to the state of ketosis.

Is this legit?

If you do a search on this forum for "fasted cardio" you'll learn that that belief is a fairly common misconception about what's effective for weight loss

I've heard it before too. And I've never quite understood if this actually works vs exercising after eating. I'd imagine after eating, calories are pulled from what you ate and once it gets through that then it burns fat. Where as, on an empty stomach, it doesnt have to work through foods youve eaten already.

Dont quote me on any of that, thats how it seems to me. I could be very very wrong tho.

Yea, as Mal said don't worry about it. I'm not a fan of fasted exercise. It's net calories that matter when it comes to a deficit.
