View Full Version : From 400 lbs to a marathon

Mr. Marathoner

I completed my first half marathon (Green Bay Cellcom) on May 18th at 378 lbs, I weighed in at 361.4 this morning. My longest run to date is 18 miles on July 4th, it took me 6 hours so I have work to do but I know I will get it done. I go back to Disney for the full marathon on January 11th, 2009 for a little revenge. I wan't ready the first time, I'll be ready this time.

Meet Mr. Marathoner (http://www.mrmarathoner.com)

The more support I get the stronger I seem to become. Thanks.

Thanks! The diet is going well, I have become used to eating right nowadays so I don't have the cravings like I used to when I first started. Also with the amount of mileage I am putting in I have to make sure I am getting enough calories on a daily basis, it's just all about eating the right things.

The date does a lot for me, it helped keep me honest in the beginning and now it has become habit.

I had a 13 miler on Saturday and today (Sunday) a 5 miler. They went well and I am officially in the 350's, I weighed in at 358.6. The hard work is starting to really pay off. Thanks for everyone's support.

Amazing, I don't know If I would have had the courage to keep going after the initial set back.

Great Job! I'm sure you'll finish in 2009.

It was tough to get back out there and I had a flashback during the half marathon in May when I saw I was at the back again at one point. I kept my head up and put one foot in front of the other until I finished. Thanks for the support.

That's awesome; I couldn't imagine running a marathon or even a half marathon even at my fittest. You've inspired me to try harder.
