Bettebody81 by admitting that you need help you have made the most important decision. I walk a lot, every morning before I go to work, I walk or jog for an hour around the block. I also watch what I eat, wholegrains, vegetables, fruits and drink a lots of water. I find that water is the most important nutrient. Everyone knows that the majority of our body is water. Babies are 70% water, adults are 50-60% water and if we break down your body, blood is made up of 83 percent water, bones are 22 percent water, and muscle is 75 percent water. So water is really important. As you exercise and gain muscle you can see that muscle is mostly water. In fact both Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig both have their customers drink between 8 and 10 glasses of water a day and most people that diet find that they lose 2-10 pounds in the first week on their diet, primarily from the water loss. I also have picked up this habit of eating home. I eat out once in while. Hope this helps

I want to start off by saying you can do it. First things first I would really try and learn as much as you can about nutrition and then figure out how many calories you need a day. Once you've got your diet in check start exercising. Keep in mind you need to make a lifestyle change so make changes that you can live with so you don't burn yourself out.

Hey there! :)
You already made a good start by losing the 7 lbs, and I am sure you can get rid off the other unwanted pounds if you really want it. Once you start losing, it's like an addiction, you just want to lose more, and prove yourself that you can do it!
At least that's what it is like for me. I weigh myself once a week (sometimes twice, but try not to do it too often), and I just can't wait for those days to see what I accomplished during the week. :)
I don't really have much of advice that others haven't given already...check the stickies, learn about nutrition and about how to change your lifestyle. Personally I started with cutting down on sweets, sweet drinks, sugar in coffee and things like that. And I added more salad and veggies to my diet, basically just started to eat healthier, and paid more attention to what I ate. I also do a bit of exercise, not much (yet), but every little bit counts. :)
Hope everything works out well for you, and if you need any help or advice, or just some encouragement...there's plenty of nice (and pretty knowledgeable) people around here always willing to help! :)

BB81 - well, I'm more of a newbie here than you are, but HI! I am reading through this place to fuel my fire to workout once I can breathe again (Santa brought me bronchitis for Christmas). I walk quite a bit (to work and back weather permitting), and also love to jump rope for fitness. I recently bought the Zumba video system in a silent auction at work, and am planning to use that and jump rope for my fitness routine. What are your favorite workouts?

I bought a JumpSnap over a year ago, and jump with it to my favorite upbeat tunes. The Ramones, The Gogo's, No Doubt, Green Day,... you can't help but get your heart rate up to this stuff. I LOVE what it does for my calves and butt. :) I try to do 35-45 minutes at a time. I want to work in the Zumba workouts too, though. Friends at work are taking classes twice a week and seeing great results. :drool5:
