Most of you will think this is funny, some of you will be highly disturbed...

...but I guarantee that every single one of you have done exactly what's in this video. So you cannot judge me. LOL.

YouTube - Entry #719 - 60 Days to Leave The 60s (http://youtube.com/watch?v=a1yTWq4uOgA)

If you have the ability to tape your reaction, some friends have sent theirs and they're quite funny. By all means, please do the same if you'd like! And finally if you're interested in the corresponding entry or a high-def version of the video check out the description on the YouTube page...

...and don't say I didn't worn you.

Well I've lost nearly 30 pounds... so there's not much more to lose!

Yeah, now it's mostly toning and trying to get a few excess pounds off my stomach. But thanks!

i have to admit you sound a bit of a know-it-all-prick with your post about myths/facts though. Loosing 27.5lb and dieting for 60 days, most of those 'myths' dont really apply :)

I think you misunderstood the "myths". That was a list of things that people spout as "truths", that aren't true for ME. I even say 2 paragraphs later that I dont know DICK about how to help people lose weight, only what works for me. I think you skipped all the surrounding paragraphs...

nono, i agree for the most part of a lot of them. But stuff like eating very low calories, though it works in the short term of a couple months, it will catch up with you in the long run :)

I agree on a lot of them though, i was more commenting on that you only did 60 days or almost 30lb so some of them dont even apply to you at all anyway. Things like eating lower calories definatly do affect you if you continue it for more than a couple of months for sure.

Well it really does depend on your weight. At 150 pounds... you can maintain very easiliy at 1800-2000 calories a day. Did it for several years. But so many places say 1800-2000 is too low for a male. It just isn't so for me. That's all I was saying was that every person is different. You gotta take a good look at who you are and what works/doesn't work for you.

But hey, I've read your site and we're so on the same page. Just know that 1200 is only for me to lose and I'll maintain closer to 2000... I won't however go over 2000 a day. I'm just not active enough to sustain it. I know the formulas say doing NOTHING burns like 2200 calories a day but I'm tellin' ya... not for me. Just what I've found over the past 10 years.

fair call, you're not a huge bulky guy like most are though anyway, and like me probably a desk jockey. I know i dont loose if i dont cycle - on the other hand if i do cycle i loose tons :D (probably because i go so far and long and hard)

Well sweet jesus, your story is extraordinary. It's so funny - I just read on msnbc.com that some lady dropped 140 pounds and she made national news. And I'm like - "WHAT ABOUT WISHES IN NEW ZEALAND!!!!"

;-) You're incredibly inspiring...

HA. I loved it. thank you once again.

Still can't believe that you only eat boring, bland food to get there. But you got there and you look awesome.

LOL - I actually mentioned your reaction to "bland" food in the entry. Is rice/chicken/veggies really that bland? I guess so. Ha.

Keep kickin' ass.

That was so funny!!! I have done all of that do get that dang scale to move...although for some reason it only really matters when you are at one of those 'break points'.

Congrats on your progress and for having the guts to video yourself sitting on the toilet ~ that was extremely brave!

ME? passive-aggresive? ha. love you too. Although the Ego's sorta creep me out....
Enjoyed your rant on dieting as well (blog post). Imagine that could get some people riled up here! Agree with you saying you have to find what works for you, although you seem to want to throw everything out the window that is taught on dieting. Can see you don't lack in the ability to voice your opinion...

My 17 year old loved the video. I think she was impressed that you had the guts to show your nude self on the toilet. "not bad looking for an old guy"

keep it up. you make my day!:troll:

Ha - so much to respond to here. :-)

-First, shit - I'm the old guy. That'll never register to me, but welcome to life right?

-Egos are indeed a little much for most people. Honestly, most don't know it's all me so they never get "Weirded" out. Thinking Spencer is a different person is just easier for everyone. Including my mother. :-)

-Out of context with "The Journey" the posts certainly come off incredibly arrogant and it's actually intended that way. The whole point was to chronicle what it's like to try and make it in this industry and how it changes you. I'm always open and honest and if that means I turn into a complete prick, well though not intended - maybe that's what happens? I try not to worry about how it looks, just be honest. I will however stew about people's reactions ad infinitum because I don't ever want to seem insincere or arrogant. But sometimes we do.

-And on the diet stuff, there's just as many things I could have written that go ALONG with what other people say. I'm not an alien, so obviously there are some universal truths about humans and dieting... I just found my best success in the last 7 years (and remember I kept a good 50 pounds off for 5 years, but a divorce certainly changes things - heh), my best success was to stop listening to everyone and look INWARD. At me. What were my issues, what was I doing wrong, what were my triggers, and what were my strengths and weaknesses. Doing that allowed me to find what would work, and it ends up - it's the opposite of what many people say is right. That's all I was saying in that post. And I also immediately followed that up with:

"Now, if you're anorexic or bulimic or have long side-burns or stinky feet - everything I just wrote may be wrong...for you. It's something you just have to figure out for yourself. "

And so it goes...
