Hey guys!

being to young to be married, let alone have any children, I HIGHLY underestimated the average housewife. Today my mom hurt her back, she has arthritis and sometimes it acts up, it hasn't in years.. till now. My step mom was working so I was left to care for my little brother and sister, and the house it all comes with.

But my question is. How do all you housewives find time for diet and exercise?! I barely had enough time to write this between lunch, diner, dishes, laundry, and cleaning! I really really look up to my mom now, it takes a amazing woman to deal with all this..

I let the laundry pile up and I sometimes feed my husband food out of a can. :ack2:

You can always combine your chores. Like if you are making something that can survive the freezer, make double what you need so that later on you can just have a quick 10-minute reheat for a future meal. I do this often, saves me quite a bit of time considering when I go all out it can be a 4 hour cook time - usually if I leave it in the oven I end up going to stir it every 20 minutes...ah I love cooking! Also if you watch any kind of TV you can kill two birds with one stone (pardon the phrase) and exercise or fold laundry while you watch - I have been doing this all week ;) If you have to chase kids or pets around all day and do a lot of cleaning that is exercise in itself, too.

I think it's great that you told your mother how much you respect her. I bet that meant the world to her that you admire her the way that you do. :)

Thank you! I think i'll try the freezer thing tonight. The kids are at the age where " you aren't my mom I can do what I want" is their only words. lol

I find it all quite easy if I stick to a strict routine each morning. Also I think if your house is really really organised it makes a big difference.

Everything in my house is organised. Every cupboard, bench top, box etc. is completely decluttered and has an order. So does the fridge, pantry, bathrooms, washing baskets etc.

I have a strict morning routine where I juggle a whole bunch of tasks as soon as I get up.

- Bed made as soon as i get up, washing collected and begun immediately.
- Children dressed, played with, fed and started on before-school activities first thing. Then while they are busy I prepare the lunches for 24 hrs in advance and prepare all dinner ingredients, defrost meat etc.
- Washing then hung out, bags packed.
- Bathrooms cleaned, floors done if needed.

Usually I get this all done before I do the school drop off for my eldest. Then I head straight to the gym with my youngest. Then I have the whole day to do as I please.

If you can work out a routine and get used to it, it's amazing what you can achieve.

WOW! Thats amazing! I'll try that because moms still down from her accident and step mom works, so that leaves me to take care of mom and the kids:ack2:

When I first started at home as a housewife i actually did up a timetable that set out all my exercise times, different activities with the children (when they were both home), cooking prep and cleaning time. Now I just have it all in my head.

However everything I do has a routine. Even the way I pack lunches or cut veges. Everything has a fast and easy order so I can get it all done. It's taken me a few years to master it all. But now that I have it all worked out I fit so much more into my life. Plus my hubby thinks the world of me.
Good luck!! xxx
