I recently joined Slim4Life here in the Kansas City area. I started exactly one week ago today. While the plan is expensive, and the food requirements restrictive, there is no prepackaged food to buy, and I do have a lot of choices as to what I can eat, as long as it's on plan. (Lots of fruits, veggies, lean meat, and limited starches and fats. There are shakes and bars that help with the sweet tooth cravings as well. I started at 300 lbs and am down to 290.8 so far. My goal is 170. Has anyone else tried this plan? Successes, failures??

I didnt try the plan, however I'm curious as to how 'expensive' it actually is... mind sharing?

Not at all. The cost depends on how much you have to lose and how many weeks you will need. My goal is to lose 130 lbs so it will take me 44 weeks of weight loss plus 20 weeks of stabilization and maintenance. If I were to pay for the entire plan up front (which I did not) the total cost for everything for me would have been close to 5K.

Wow that's a big chunk of change?

What does that give you - that just working within a reasonable calorie range doesn't?

Does spending that kind of money make it 'easier' to stick with it?

Thats like 80$ a week right? Seems a little steep.

Are they including all meals, personal trainer, and private coaching in that price? I surely would hope so, or I would start wondering what exactly all that money is going for...

I have now been on Slim4Life for 2 months. I have worked with a trainer for 3 years and still had pure diet issues. Yes, this is expensive and I do think that helps me stay on track. However, the thing I like the most is that when you get stuck or if you go off for a day, the staff help you get back on track quickly. I have now lost about 30 pounds and have 7 more to reach goal. The first 10 came off fast, the rest has been 1-3lbs a week which can be frustrating at times. I have just gotten through the menopause and train 3-4 days per week. I have been able to come off my blood pressure medicine. I have also learned a lot about combining foods and things to eat when I travel for business.

I'm new to this whole forum thing, but I thought - hey, maybe I can get something out of this. I started Slim4Life in OP just shy of 2 months ago and so far I've said good-bye to 17 lbs. It would be more if I hadn't cheated here and there, but right now I'm feeling pretty motivated....so I'm hoping to kick things up. They currently have me on a 2 day "Plateau Breaker" - which BITES....but if I can get a few pounds off because of it well then 2 days isn't that bad. I'd like to talk with some people and maybe get a support thing going. Maybe?
