View Full Version : What Exercise is Fun

What exercise do you do that is strictly for fun. Not a workout, but you'd do it even if you didn't get any benefits from it physically. Me, I love to mountain bike. It reminds me just how much fun riding a bike is. It's like being a kid again and just riding for the fun of it.

What's your fun?

Although, the effort expended just trying to get sex is sometimes as good as ( if not a better ) workout.;):)

Any sort of sport related activity is usually fun. If you don't have a partner you could try this one.

Awww Milhouse!

Shooting hoops is pretty fun! Plus you have to run after the ball. If you're in school/college I would strongly suggest Marching Band. Super fun, a great workout (a horribly great workout if you've got a nazi-director LOL), and you get to learn an awesome instrument!

I was really into tango dancing for about two years. That was loads of fun. Not a huge workout, but it keeps you on your feet and moving around for a few hours.

Yeah, I also dance. I started with a belly dancing class last month and I've started taking 2 classes a week now. I'm also going to have my first exam (in South Africa belly dancing has exams) in August!

It's the most fun I have EVER has exercising!

S Factor is basically stripping classes lol You learn how to do floor work and pole tricks. It's tough but it's so much fun.

I can see how that would be fun just as much as I do not see myself taking part in it.:D
I like Volleyball for exercise. No workout can match a good best of 3 sand tourney.

I miss vball!!!! I used to play in high school and now I'm beyond scared of it. I was playing on the beach and after going to block a spike came back down at a weird angle and dislocated my knee and tore ligaments and ended up with major surgery.

Basketball! Whenever I go to the gym, I always say, "I won't go on the courts today because I have a serious workout to do." Then the courts start calling my name.

I dig kayaking/rowing too and at the gym I do ergometer for my cardio. Nothing like the real thing though.

I too love basketball, I don't get to do it enough. I actually do Curves, and I get a great work out and I love it. I can tell some people are there for the social aspect, so I let them talk about stuff and it helps make my work out go quicker.

I stay on my treadmill listening to the music stations on my T.V, and I sing.. thats enough entertainment for me- cause I totally suck at singing, and me sounding so horrible is amusing.. especially when I get tired.. :D

I also have dance DVD's, which I will not do in front of anyone, cause they all laugh at me when I do that too!

Sex is fun - but I'm not sexually active - I just lay there ;) hehe

j/k

Dancing is fun, walking outside when it's not too hot, I actually HATE true exercising like at the gym - but I LOVE the results so I try to focus on that and "just do it"!

I like walking too, but with the temps here reaching 110 i've put it on hold. I find bodyweight exercises fun in a way (Doing pushups might not sound like fun, but when its the first time in your life your able to do them, you take some pleasure from it.)

Brazilian Jujitsu is basically a split off from Jujitsu/Judo. Made famous and spread by the Gracie family, its focus is mainly on grappling (rather than strikes). Never done it myself, but I'd love to learn one day :D

Personally, I love sparring. It's a great feeling knowing you got the upper hand over someone. We alternate kicks and slaps/locks.

Honestly I now enjoy running, it's not "oh my god I can't keep going" anymore, it's more like a time when I can clear my mind.

Other than that, I have a road bike that I love to race around town with and I play racquetball.

Nope...it's HOT here! I live in Oz and yesterday it was 34 degrees! I did go cycling and it was tough! I thought it would be easy. I think the tires need more air...can that make a difference?

I have a playlist on i-tunes of songs that are good to dance to - Everything from "YMCA" by The Village People to "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis" by Kirsty Macoll to "Yo Ya" by Khaveret and "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John. I just play it and dance and don't worry about looking silly. (I think I look like these smilies here)

Absolutely it can. When I first started biking I was using an old mountain bike. I didn't realize for the longest time that I was riding with really flat tires; when I realized I went out and bought a cheap floor pump that tells me the psi. First inflation my tires were somewhere around 15-20 psi when they should have been over 60. Riding after pumping them up to the required psi made it so much easier and better.

On a road bike it's even more important to keep your tires filled up; they usually say you should have over 100psi (mine is 120).

So my recommendation if you really want to bike a lot: go get a floor pump and check the walls of your tire for the recommended psi!

Okay, thanks. I pumped up the tires yesterday and they did feel better, but I reckon they could still be fuller. The cycling was still tough, I have a lot of hills in my area. I think I'm going to keep the bike for running errands. If I need to go to the local shops, or the post box etc. I'm actually a bit scared on main roads.

Just recently we started playing sport on the weekends. Hella fun, and HELLA tiring :D The last two weekends we've played touch football (American), and each time it's taken me a few days to recover :D
