hi all,
hope everyone is going well and staying on the wagon. last day of week three for me, i get to weigh in tomorrow morning when i get home from work ( working graveyard shifts at the moment ) . still 100% on the wagon and continuing to enjoy the ride!!
tash - you asked about gravy. i posted some time ago that i'd discovered how to make some, so i assume it may have been that comment you read. i took the inspiration from the recipes on the cohens lifestyle website - the gravy was in the poultry section under chicken schnitzel with gravy. you can take a squiz at that recipe and see what you think. i don't make it exactly like that recipe though. here's what i do:
gravy recipe
using a small saucepan, bring approx 1/2 cup of water to boil.
add 1 to 2 teaspoons ( depending on preference ) of balsamic vinegar.
allow to simmer until there's enough liquid left to cover food as desired ( the more liquid, the runnier the gravy basically ).
add herbs/spices as desired.
add your allowance of low fat mayonaise ( 1/2 teaspoon ) to liquid and stir continually until mayonaise has dispersed and mixture has consistency of gravy.
if desired, add chopped onion ( which has been browned in a frypan ) or mushrooms for mushroom gravy.
works a treat, but can be a little overpowering to start with if you use too much balsamic in it. hope you enjoy!
myshy - congrats on starting your re-feed!! all that effort has finally paid off ay? keep us posted on your weight loss during the re-feed.
has anyone heard further from joysey?? i'd love to know how she's been going since her re-feed. she did so well. i've got just a little more weight to lose than she did, and have read through her past posts and am totally inspired by how well and how quickly she lost her weight. if you are in touch with her please let her know we'd love to hear from her!!
take care, will post tomorrow with hopefully a move on my ticker! :d
